Successful completion of Team D’s Smart Solution Labs project at Molkerei Söbbeke GmbH: in Gronau!

The students presented the results of their eight-week project work in a hybrid format. A strong example of how studies, exams and project work can be successfully combined within the framework of an international Interreg project.

Focus: Whole-life waste management in practice

Within just eight weeks, the interdisciplinary and international team developed concrete, implementable solutions – in line with current regulatory requirements in Germany and the EU:

🔹 Analysis of the legal environment on the subject of waste

🔹 Overview of best practices in waste management

🔹 Overview of suitable KPIs for waste management

🔹 Employee training and sustainable awareness-raising concepts

🔹 Visually appealing posters to support everyday work

🔹 Gamification elements for interactive training

🔹 AI-generated video for modern knowledge transfer

🔹 Comprehensive final report with concrete recommendations for action

Particularly impressive:

The team, with backgrounds in applied computer science, business administration, bionics, biomedical technology and chemical engineering, quickly familiarised themselves with a new subject area and developed practical, innovative and sustainable solutions.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Molkerei Söbbeke GmbH for their trusting cooperation – in particular

  • Kseniia Reimer (Sustainability) for her close support in terms of content
  • Georg Stenkamp (Head of Operations) for his support from kick-off to final presentation

Equally big thanks to the accompanying team from SSL:
