As part of our new practical project, we – Team D of the Smart Solution Labs – were able to officially launch at Molkerei Söbbeke, and the kick-off could hardly have been more intense or inspiring. Thanks to the excellent planning of our supervisor Kseniia Reimer, we were given a comprehensive, detailed and extremely carefully prepared tour of the premises, which gave us a deep insight into the company’s processes, values and ambitions.
- Our task:
Waste management – a highly topical and future-relevant sustainability issue: As we learned, Molkerei Söbbeke is not only about meeting standards, but even exceeding them, as the figures for Bioland certification impressively demonstrate. For example, Bioland’s land requirements are met by 500%! (Calculation: Bioland stipulates a grazing area of 600 m² per cow. At Söbbeke, the average grazing area is 3,000 m² per cow. That’s more than half a football field!)
