In the Smart Solution Labs project, Team C investigated how Cargo Heat Treatment‘s heat treatment chambers could be positioned more effectively on the market.
The starting point was a specific regulatory challenge: for exports – for example to Australia – goods must be free of pests, in particular the brown marmorated stink bug, within certain periods prior to shipment. While this has often been achieved through fumigation with toxic gases, Cargo Heat Treatment offers an environmentally sustainable alternative through heat treatment – and thus a relevant market opportunity.
The students analysed the market, target groups and competitors, compared different business models and developed a roadmap with next steps for Cargo Heat Treatment.
The project conclusion provides a basis for discussion for further market development and strategic decisions.
Many thanks to all those involved for their cooperation and to Cargo Heat Treatment for supporting the project.
